Gladesville Town Centre DCP

Gladesville, NSW

completed in 2007
as the lead consultant
for Ryde Council and Hunters Hill Council

Gladesville is a traditional main street focussed town centre which is currently car dominated. Opportunities for the regeneration of the town centre include:

-the creation of a series of new public squares and streets setback from Victoria Road, linked by pedestrian paths.

-the development of Council sites for new public squares, retail centres and underground parking, to revitalise the existing shopping.

The DCP is a 3 dimensional  set of built form controls. The building envelopes were tested for economic viability and extensive community consultation was undertaken in the preparation of building heights.

The DCP was prepared under the Department of Planning’s LEP template and the LEP controls were written based on the DCP outcomes.
