Specialising in urban design, urban housing and community buildings Russell is a registered architect and urban designer with extensive experience in Australia and overseas. Russell has worked in Sydney, Paris, Canberra and Adelaide on major urban design and architectural projects. His office has prepared city centre planning controls for Central Sydney, Parramatta, Adelaide and Canberra. LEP and DCPs for town centres include Hurstville, Kogarah, Gordon, Gladesville and St Ives.

Russell’s team were finalists in the Parc de la Villette Competition in Paris. He gained 2 awards as a member of the 1998 Sydney City Plan team, the Royal Australian Planning Institutes Presidents Award 1999 and the National Planning Ministers Award 1999

Russell chaired the RAIA Architectural Design Committee from 2000 to 2004. He has lectured at Sydney universities and prepared expert witness assessments. Russell was a panellist on the SEPP 65 Design Review Panel for the Inner West Councils, design review panels for Liverpool and Ryde Councils, and the Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel for Fairfield City Council. Russell is currently a panellist on the North Sydney Design Excellence Panel and the Liverpool Design Excellence Panel.

Lisa Trevisan - Senior Associate

B Arch ( Hons ) (UNSW)

Lisa Trevisan joined Olsson & Associates in 2017, and has been involved in a variety of projects, ranging from construction documentation, preparation of development applications well as urban design projects.

Lisa comes to Olsson & Associates Architects with more than 25 years experience, working primarily on mixed used/multi unit residential projects, at all phases of the process. Other projects include commercial & warehouse projects, student housing, boarding houses, civic projects as well as single residential of all scales and budgets.

Her role has ranged from feasibility, concept design, design development, tender documentation, construction documentation and advice during construction.

At Olsson & Associates, Lisa is involved with feasibility/yield studies, design development and construction documentation of projects, applying her expertise in the co-ordination of projects and consultants as well as mentoring teams. She has also worked on urban design projects for both local government and the private sectors.

Tavis Callaghan - Associate

MSc Urban Design (Edin.) B Arch and B Dest (Adel.)

Tavis Callaghan is a Graduate of Architecture and Urban Designer with over 10 years of experience working in the residential, hospitality, and urban design sectors both in South Australia and New South Wales. Having recognised his passion for creating people focused urban outcomes he completed a postgraduate MSc in Urban Design from the University of Edinburgh in 2012.

Since Joining Olsson Architecture and Urban Projects in 2015 Tavis has worked on a range of Architectural and Urban Projects across the greater Sydney region. His experience allows him to effortlessly transition between all scales of development, from developing resilient precinct wide concepts through to design led construction detailing.

Tavis has recently been appointed as an Associate at Olsson where he has been applying his expertise to all stages of a projects’ development and leading the delivery of a wide range of projects.

Alicja Paluba - Graduate Architect

M. Arch, Frankfurt - UAS and B. Arch, Frankfurt - UAS

Alicja is a graduate architect from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Germany based on 4 years of experience in design and construction in Germany. Prior to joining Olsson & Associates Architects in 2019, she has worked as project architect in Sydney’s architectural scene on smaller and bigger residential projects.

Her background ranges from preliminary drafting, to approval and construction drawings, as well as to construction site management for residential and commercial projects.  Her expertise refers to projects such as the modernization of houses, working with existing buildings, as well as to new constructions. Due to her ability to transform contents in a high quality and visual appearance, she was the responsible head for communication and presentation in and outside her former office regarding clients, competitions and other stakeholders.

Further she took a professional role as a team leader and project architect in the international Solar Decathlon Europe Competition 2014, which is aiming and promoting the interest in topics such as renewable energies, sustainability and urban integration.

Her part time studies in the M. Eng. Sustainable Structures at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences qualified her to become a certified energy consultant in Germany.
