Central Sydney DCP and LEP

completed in 1998
for Sydney City Council

The Central Sydney LEP and DCP were prepared by Russell Olsson, as a member of a three person consultant team, for Sydney City Council.

The City Plan revised building heights and envelopes, land uses and floor space ratios for the City Centre. Leading to the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, the plan integrated many public domain and built form design initiatives. Russell prepared building envelope and development capacity studies for all parts of the city centre. Detailed design studies and controls were prepared for Special Areas such as Circular Quay, Bridge Street, Town Hall Precinct, Macquarie Street and Railway Square.

Russell made presentations to all key Government and stakeholder groups, including the Central Sydney Planning Committee, The Property Council and The Heritage Council. He prepared the City Plan exhibition at Sydney City Council and reviewed all submissions to the exhibition before participating in the preparation of the final LEP and DCP.
