Hurstville Church of Christ in MacMahon Street, Hurstville is seeking to expand the Church facilities to include a 500 seat place of worship; public forecourt, lobby, bookshop and cafe; multi-purpose hall and indoor basketball court; childcare centre for 120 children; church offices and meeting rooms.
In addition, commercial offices are required to provide revenue and space for church expansion. This project amended Hurstville Town Centre DCP to accommodate church requirements.
The floor space ratio for the site is increased from 2:1 to 4:1 and approval has been gained for a nine storey office tower and church uses. A public square is created and the buildings are designed to relate well to the heritage fire station and adjoining office buildings.
