MACQUARIE STREET LIVERPOOL

Located on Macquarie Street at the Southern end of the Liverpool City Centre the proposed development consists of a 22 storey residential tower above an 8 storey hotel podium. Liverpool is anticipated to undergo immense change in the near future as one of Western Sydney’s major centres in close proximity to the Western Sydney Airport. The proposed development is a 30 storey mixed use tower for one of the largest hotel groups in the Asia-Pacific and residential apartments. Totalling 22,920 square metres, the development includes hotel rooms, restaurant,  gym, rooftop bar, communal areas, and a six level basement. Residents and hotel guests are provided with separate access points, lobbies, and communal facilities.

OLSSON has designed an attractive materials palette reflecting the natural elements of the locality and complementing the landscape design by Durie Design. Brick facades offer character, durability and connection to human scale. A grand double scale colonnade celebrates Macquarie Street as a major entry into the city centre. Rounded external corners soften the robust materials of the podium, providing inviting forms.

The slender, streamlined tower sits above the podium and provides sweeping views across the Sydney Basin as well as becoming a gateway to the future Liverpool. Curved forms are continued in the tower’s design. Landscaping is a significant feature, providing beautiful amenity to guests, residents and the public.
